Goa State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (GSEIAA) and Goa State Expert Appraisal Committee (GSEAC)
Goa State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (GSEIAA) and Goa State Expert Appraisal Committee (GSEAC) are constituted by ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India. In exercise of power conferred by subsection (1) and (3) of section 3 Environment (Protection)Act,1986.
The mandate of the authority is to take measures for protecting and improving the quality Environment as mandated in the Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) Notification, 2006 (as amended) for scrutiny, appraisal and issuance of prior environmental clearance (EC) in the State of Goa. The powers and functions of the authority are subject to supervision and control of Central Government of India.
The Authority is constituted from time to time for a period of 3 years.
Presently, the MoEF and CC has reconstituted SEIAA/SEAC vide S.O. 4256(E) dated 26th November 2020.
